Normally someone would talk about themselves here, soooo… I’m obligated to tell you about myself.
| Name: | Anthony William Steiner |
| Location: | (South) Buffalo, NY USA |
| DOB: | May 26, 1986 |
I don’t have any formal education in what I do… and what do I do? If it is on a computer I most likely know how to use it.
I got my first PC at about 12 years old (by the way I’m 23 at the time of this post. lol).. it was a Compaq Presario Pavillion… 755Mgz intel II processor, 32MB nVidia grachics card… Win 98+, lol. It was top-of-the-line for it’s time. Well I got involved with HTML for making websites on Lycos.com for family and friends and never looked back.
It was a huge thanks to two of my teachers in high school for spiking my interest in technology.
Barbara Cooper; who introduced me to the exciting world of power-macs, and gave me the means to start building my own computers. Kind of the gateway into the computer world if you will.
And of course George Davis; he pretty much set the bar on my computer interests. Introduced me to a slew of awesome and useful computer related tools. Hell he even took me on some IT jobs just to show me how great of facet computers can be. (Oh yea, he has his own pc services firm, http://saviorpc.com, oh no, I’m cross branding! oops, lol). I owe alot of what I’m driven to do today to him.
My background in development is simple… I do it because I love it, even when it becomes something I have to do, I will still love doing it.
It’s like something an engineer once said to me…
Him – “You know that feeling you get when you create something and it works, not just great, but better than you anticipated?”.
Me – “Yes, code development has the same great feeling to it…”
Him – “But I can pick mine up and shove it in your face and go ‘ha ha it’s real!’”
His name is Troy Banks and yes he’s man-child, lol. (Troy if you read this, you’re awesome… but that conversation is stuck in my memory forever, lol)
As far as I’ve come in the development world I can’t help but look back and give thanks to the few that helped me push myself to this point.
